Slipping further down,
Down into the dark abyss.
I hang on with the every fiber of my being,
My fingers growing weary.
Shouting for help,
Searching the open sky above me.
No one no hope.
I have to get out of this bottomless pit,
Before it swallows me whole.
Loosing my life,
Loosing everything I hold so dear.
I surge forward,
Straining and finding the next foot hold,
To push me up to find the next finger grip.
I continue and I climb.
I reach the top just as it starts to rain,
Yet I pull myself over the ridge to safety.
I find that I am only on a safe ridge, half way up.
I take a few deep breaths,
I start to climb, yet again.
Please tell me what you think
