The Swan Lake

Holding hands, walking alongside the wrecked shore,
eyes looking upon the Lake with the wonder of a child.

The sky falls into the water
but nothing can hush up words
and feelings ascending from our hearts.

A flash of thoughts…
was that dark water’s deceptive reflection
trying to lure a few lonesome ducks
into a cruel illusion,
insisting on keeping up their faith
that the miracle of metamorphosis will turn them into swans?

The only light and warmth came from you.
We floated away
your touches pluming me
and I felt so white...
there, where the rainbow will rise again,
unchanged,
like our love.
Infinite.

A brilliant penning, my Friend. The title brought me to your door...I am a swan who thinks she is still an ugly duckling, but yearns to fly anyway. lol. The emphasis on the word "white"  was a lovely touch; when love is pure, everything is a blank canvas, waiting for colors to rise anew. Brava, Poet. ~ Wanda

Dear Tamara, I am only trying to express myself my own way and I am so glad that you like it. I write a lot, all kind of stories and thats probably reflect to my poetry. I do not want to look pretentious pricing myself, you can find many so many fine poets on this site.
