Friendship.

Pausing for breath and inward reflection zac new of this day as his last,
Many days had passed before those who would hold sway revealed of themselves,
true as had been in the past they were cowards.

'At least' he thought to himself 'they show some respect for my talent,
else thay have little faith in their own'.

Knowing it well to be his last his mind wandered inwardly to comfort of himself and allow the healing to continue.

Not knowing for certain that his friend would survive the day was no reason to cease the trying, after all, what was 1000 against one when true friendship called.
Then he remembered what his friend had mentioned the very first day they were in combat together those many years before.

'A man can think of a great many things in this world that he would strive to live for,
but,
until he has known true friendship! 
he will not know of the one thing in this world worth dying for'.

With the thoughts of his friend echoing in his head,
onward he went to meet the foe.
