I Write

I write, to the tune of her heartbeat
An Angels melody, sung softly
A deep breath in, a pause
And then the words flow onto the page

I write, to ease the pain boiling inside me
The monitor no longer sings her song
I can’t hear the music created by her heart
Her soul has retreated, her body an empty shell

I write, to keep that calming melody in my soul
I sing from memory to that distant song
The recording playing and replaying in my mind
The empty space,  a constant reminder

I write, to the memory she left behind
To the woman she would have been
I write, to remember the gifts she gave
Before her heart stopped singing that beautiful song

Author notes

I write to remember a life I never truly knew. I write to remember what little I can about who she might have been. I started writing to remember things, I couldnt trust myself to recall otherwise. I write because of pain in my life, and it has had healing affects you might not believe.

Exceedingly beautiful words here as to why you write. Your sentiments spill over from the heart. Lovely, melancholy melodies, and sadness all wrapped into one nicely scribed package of skilled writing. I am impressed with the realism of it all. There are hordes that can identify, I am sure.

Thank you for this entry and I wish you well in the challenge.

    Much Love ♥

That is definitely a sad one, a very good write. I cant imagine losing someone so young. Not knowing the amazing things they could have done. You know what though, their still doing amazing things up above :-) they are still loved, and I dont know about you, but I am jealous, the little one beat me home to see our Father ;-).

We all write for different reasons, these reasons you share here can certainly pertain to others as well. Easy to read and understand what you write in these lines. Good flow and sentiments shared in this poem.

Words we pen can have such a soothing effect, even when they hurt before healing. Can't imagine a better therapy to release all we have kept inside.
A sad poem, but expressing real emotions which bring up the beauty of your mind.

I would certainly believe the healing effects of writing your poetry, like the whale song it is deep and moves us from within. I am sorry for your loss and hope that time will allow you to accept your situation with less raw pain than now. Carry your angel in your heart bravely.
