Lunar Eclipse

His arms are wrapped around me.
Both of us are standing
Outside, in the cold
Gazing at the eclipse,
And admiring its celestial beauty.
Shivering beneath the stars,
I point out Orion’s belt
Proclaiming my nerdy state

We go inside,
Briefly,
Long enough to warm up
And stop shivering.

We say our goodbyes
And look to tomorrow.

Tonight we wait.
