In the cellar of my mind,
where memories like aging wine
grow in poignancy, I find
my furtive hiding place.
From the rows of vintages
I am ever sampling,
rise the pungent images
of your weathered face.
Even as I'm reminiscing,
I am spellbound by your gaze:
Rosebud slowly opening,
beauty in emerging grace.
Spring and Summer! Dawn and Day!
Blooming untouched, too divine
to be bound in a bouquet,
or cut and stuck inside a vase.
In the evanescent Fall
I took snapshots of your soul,
dreading what would soon befall:
Winter winds efface.

I LOVE your word choice on this. You had some great vocabulary here. I especially love the line: "Spring and Summer! Dawn and Day!" It added to the whole effect of the poem.
Amazing take on the prompt.
4 points for Team Parchment!
