Calm
Cool
Collected
That's what you see in the blue
Seeping from her pores,
Coating her in azul splendor
But underneath it rages,
Running deep,
A swift sorrow
-
Weeping mother
Weeping widow
She's frozen in July
Then the flowers die without her rain
And alternatively occurring
Sleepy tide
-
Soon enough,
The Hurricane and
The Ice Storm pass
But deep in the sea
Restlessness
Fingers to lips,
Nails down to cuticles
-
Ever churning and wandering
Feet tread in figure eights
She sleep-walks on the sand
Wandering the Earth
-
In April
She breaks down and cries
Remembering
The prodigal calm before
The Ice Age.
