madness destroying my mind,
thoughts being ripped from within
and hurled into the darkness;
I wander lost and alone
in places I don’t know,
or understand
sights that seem to be embedded
in my memory,
but not remembered,
forests of desolation
but also of wild beauty,
glimpses of long-ago rites
flit though my thoughts,
but quickly vanish
as I grasp for them;
robes as dark as my attire
hoods covering the faces,
fires burning brightly,
chants
but I can’t hold on to the memories
they keep disappearing;
demons in my soul
just tossing tantalizing tidbits,
but not enough to grant me solitude of spirit,
only enough to confuse,
frighten,
and send me deeper into despair
plunging me into a mind-altering
insanity.
conflicting emotions
in my being,
a feeling of wild peace
but of heart-pounding panic,
a feeling of love and joy
but also fright and terror
what is real, what is not
I wander through the pathways
of the dark woodlands in my mind,
and through the forests
of the real world,
trying to make sense
of the pictures I see
behind my sightless eyes,
the voices I hear
in my deafened ears
what is real, what is not
will I ever know?

DAMN that was dark! Yet brilliant... and omg you have no idea how much I can relate to this... images playing over and over in my mind, glimpses, but not a full picture! Drives you nuts!!!

It is perfection on confusion...dark and light..duality of being. Truly speaks to the subject that haunts me...fantasy or real life? My dream world... where I walk in places such as this. Wonderful take on the pic...thanks for this entry and best of luck!!!
