Jashan-E-Baharaa

Kehne ko jashan-e-baharaa hai
(it's supposed to be a festival day)

she dances in a shower of rose petals
her dress opens like a tulip

Ishq yeh dekh kay haran hi
(love is surprised)

Her love is coming
her heart sings

Phul sai khushboo hafa hai gulshan mai

flowers dance along
swaying in the breeze

Author notes

based on a song in the new movie Johdaa Akbar.

Did you purposely leave the third transliterated sentence untranslated?

This poem is very descriptive and figurative. I liked this. The touch of Urdu in it makes it as exotic as your character.
