I chant my humbling prayer:
Give me strength
as Iplunge into His chalice
avoid the sentry’s piercing
smother the deafening clang
of despicable chastising screeches
cover the Hill’s chill,
the icy fingers
of one hand clapping
I must not lose vision
so many have pledged
so little time to find
so little fortune will shine
I must possess serenity
the clarion is tolling
a sweet promise of Hope
as Yesterday screams
it’s vile rebukes
harping my every move
As I gird my loins with
courage requiting
despair, smothered angerand
demeaning ignorance
The Children must learn of
Hope and Love
of soft and tender
I bow to my task and accept the coming specter
I will champion honor
I will not surrender
