Ode To The Ex-Smoker

In, Out, In, Out,

I'm breathing,

Slowly, deeply,

I'm breathing,

Easily, noiselessly,

I'm breathing,

Clear, crisp,

The air,

I'm breathing,

Cool, pure,

Fresh,

I'm breathing,

Unpolluted, clean,

Tasteless,

I'm breathing,

Finally, gladly,

Effortlessly,

I am breathing.

Author notes

A tribute to my dad and myself for giving up smoking.
I chose this poem because I feel that it explains what it is like to breathe in fresh air properly after years of inhaling nothing but smoke.
