Father,
When you walked out and said you were leaving,
but promised that you'd come back to see us,
Did you think that I would believe it?
A little naïve child,
Just wishing for her parents to be happy together.
Father,
If you don't have the heart to tell me the truth,
then you must be ashamed of what you've done?
Leaving your family behind,
Knowing damn well that they would struggle.
But you didn't care at all.
Father,
Don't speak until the lies stop flowing,
out of your mouth that is oh so good at telling them.
So used to making promises to your children and then breaking them.
So used to pretending that you're doing something to help us.
Father,
When you said that she was just a friend,
did you forget a word?
Because now when I see you,
you're all over her,
The woman that tore us all apart.
Father,
If you don't have the mind to tell me the truth,
then just don't think at all,
Until the thoughts stop flowing.
Father,
When you say the stupid things you say to me,
and let her call me what she wishes,
Do you think it doesn't hurt?
That maybe I inherited the ability of feeling nothing from you?
That maybe it will make you a cool dad?
Father,
When you tell us that we don't want to see you,
that's why you never pick us up,
that we believe it?
The only reason that we don't want you around,
is because you don't want us around.
We never made that decision to never see you,
You did.
Father,
How's your life now?
You have everything you could've ever wished for.
Everything but family,
And people that really would've cared for you,
if you would've stayed around.
Father,
Oh Father.
It's not our fault that you're never around,
We never agreed to that.
Author notes
Just something that's long overdue, that I've written about my Dad, of course he'll never see it, but it's something that needed to be let go of. I hope you liked it, and sorry for the length.

"small little naive child" doesn't flow at all. i like the line" that maybe i inherited the ability of feeling nothing from you". very emotional. it isn't written very sophisticatedly. however, it's very passionate and emotional and anybody could feel that. good write. thanks for entering.
