Sanity or Insanity?

Missing image

It's so silly getting sad
Over times we never had
And it’s so stupid to feel blue
About days we never knew
For me to break a sweat
About the days before we met
Is the craziest thing I have ever done.

But if I could turn back time
Then go back and make you mine
I’d settle and not be wild
See you pregnant with my child
And I would pledge my love to you
Because falling in love with you
Is the sanest thing that I have ever done

Author notes

Sasha and I were talking today about what life would have been like if we met 30 years ago. How things might have been different. We both got sad thinking about things we hadn't done together.

It inspired this poem which I penned a couple of hours later.

A great piece with an interesting flow and subtle devices. It's the content that stands out. I wouldn't ponder too hard about the "should-haves" and "would-haves" though, I would try to enjoy what present life has in store today. The possibilities are endless.
Of course, hearing this from me, probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but I saw this happen with one of my closest friends. I told him that he would end up marrying her, and sure as anything he did within six months. They've been married for over 12 yrs now, but have known each other through two marriages separately for over thirty years. Friendships where it's at. Thank you for your entry, and good luck.
