In an eternal solitude, seen only by she,
The young girl waits on the passing days
Though her wait seems to be for not
Even though she has turned her heart to stone
And turned her eyes to unseeing ice
She has become an angel in stone
An unbreakable mass of
Unforgiving ice.
Amazing,
How,
The death of a loved one can change everything
In another’s life.
How it can leave that person speechless
Unable to breathe without thinking
About the horrible instance of death
That can leave all others in an isolate state.
To others,
She is catatonic –
Nothing more than another mental case
Gone wrong.
But their eyes betray them
In so many ways,
For her eyes will never give her away…
They will never show the pain that she hides;
Masked only by the ice that covers her eyes
Holds them strictly into place
Never allowing a single subtle piece of emotion
To sleep through
For even the tiniest moment.
The death of a loved one sent her into this state,
Everyone said “What a shame, the poor girl.”
And soon forgot about her
As the days passed
She stayed in her solitude,
And now in her frozen state she remains…
Even though her heart beats strong
With the pain of all that’s passed.

even though her eyes are frozen."
