This wall between us
made of brick and steel, time and space.
I can almost see it
hanging there, clearer than glass,
stronger than heaven.
This wall between us
should I describe it more?
How it feels, hard and rough.
My fingers touching, feeling
for a door, a way out.
This wall between us.
I know you’re on the other side.
At night I can hear you breathing.
During the day I can see you pacing,
talking, yelling, crying,
vainly trying to reach me.
This wall between us,
how many years has it been here?
I sit by myself in the corner
in this prison of mine,
that we are both locked in,
that neither can escape,
that defines, that describes
this wall between us.

I can't decided if I liked the repeating line of "the wall between us" or not. It seemed to put an extra punch on the pain you're feeling, but on the other hand it got annoying..I can't make up my mind so I'll just say I liked it! Great write

made of brick steele , time and space.
I like it. Wished I had seen it sooner!
