Force of a Mountain

Mountains foreboding
pressing into earth
crushing,
forever changing
the surface
some would say
scarring it
forever

others would
marvel
at how
under pressure
the land
reshaped
its beauty
and made
peace
with the
mountain

Please tell me what you think

Loved the flow and rhythm of this, and the opposing views that you reconcile so easily. But. Mountains are indications of pressure from below, not above - they grow up out of the ground, rather than push down onto it. Although, poetically, I suppose their presence is a force that sits down - but I've always seen them as a reaching up ....

The changing face of earth a true incidence of evolution. Very well put with just a words sparing the clutter of long winded poems where one reaches hard for meaning and depth and often fails. Good work and happy trails

    wow

i like how you give opposing viewpoints on the mountain. In my opinion none of the poem is awkward in fact it flows very well. This poem makes me stand in awe.
