Terminal Child

Pulling away at every strand of hair she has left,
This cancer has no idea the hurt it's causing.
I beg you please to give her mercy and wellbeing.
You drag her down to depths of your hell,
Then you throw her back as bait to your cruel ways.

Leave her in peace, she's too beautiful to go with you,
Too young to understand what dreadful deed you’re causing.
her dreams shattered by your deadly looming disease.
Please. I believe it can be fought and forgotten.

The innocence of a child deserves not to be treated this way.
Her plum face is filled with tears of what’s happening.
Nothing I can do will help my poor child from this,
All my love and affection is simply wasted.

All the colour drains from her once rosy face.
Limbs are just the beginning of what I would give,
If I was able just reach in and pull the cancer out,
But it’s too late for this.

In my arms she lays, no movement.
Dropping to my knees, crying out,
I have nobody now.

Why?
