Nothing more. A check and that is all.
Frail, neglected, in a dirty cage.
A money pit to those without a soul.
But I see, within those those weary eyes -
Life! A fading life. Life nonetheless!
Needing, at the least, before it dies
One warming touch, a home with love - a name!
Author notes
I've rescued reptiles before and just brought home some starving juvenile leopard geckos the other day. I intend to eventually have a whole branch of my small reptile business entirely for rescuing and rehoming neglected and abused reptiles.
The attached photo is of my leopard gecko Jack the day I aquired him. He is now much fatter and colorful.
Please tell me what you think

Nice
I can really relate-I'm a pet lover too! I've had dogs, chameleons, geckos, sugar gliders, rabbits, and birds and fish of all kinds. I love(d) all of them! -

Oh the tragedies of neglect!
Why ?????
I have seen this myself, I to have taken in so many rescues. Most make it, others sadly do not.
Goes back to Education being the key.....
I am so pleased you have brought this plight to our very eyes.
Admire your dreams and aims, and wish you well with this I truly do
So pleased Jack is doing well for you

I Agree!
I have felt the same way as to how some of the reptiles and amphibians are neglected in the care of pet shops that are only out to make the fast buck!!
Well Written
