The fire of love burns within,
Waited so long to hold him.
The world looks down on what I've done,
But I knew inside he was the one.
Months went by ever so slowly,
Wondering if he would ever love me.
Until the day he stared into my soul,
Told me everything I pretended not to know.
I denied to myself what was clear to see,
Was trapped in confusion, how could he love me?
People were hurt as was I,
It's never easy to say goodbye.
Still in matters of the heart there's no wrong way,
I fell into his arms that very day.
Never thought I'd find this,
Never thought I deserved it.
But his eyes and his lips tell me I'm loved,
His hands and fingertips show me I'm the one.
He holds me as he promises forever,
I know it's true and smile with my head upon his shoulder.
I tell him he's my everything and more,
That he's given me something worth fighting for.
I close my eyes and dream so sweetly,
For he is like an angel, his love so heavenly.
