Dangerous Infatuation

There is nothing but splendor
In the soft glow of her tongues
As they caress the wood
Engulfing it, swallowing it whole
Admire her from afar
Bask in the warmth she provides
Do not come near
Lest beauty turn to beast
Without changing form
And you are bitten
By the heat she emits
She dances in the dark
Enticing you to touch
So tear your eyes away
But it is too late
You are hypnotized
Entranced by her motion
Watch her sway
Back and forth in the wind
Watch her grow
Consuming everything
Anything in her path
She is pain
Brings only death
Leaves charred remains
Of what your life was
Still you are drawn
Like moths you come
Touch her, you try
She is but a ghost
An intangible force
Ethereal she remains
Killing your belongings
Destroying your reality
Reach out, you try
Cradle the hand
You sacrificed
She remains elusive
Cannot help but sigh
At her brilliance

I love it! I realized what you were talking about halfway through the poem! I actually didn't need to see the option number, which is exactly what I wanted! AND YOU PUT IN THE SUPID PHRASES!!! extra applause to go with the 3 I'm allowed!

(Did I mention I love the description???)

Sorry, it's early and I tend to be a little wacky in the morning...GREAT WRITE!
