Faintly do I speak your name,
its sound is honey on my tongue.
Every night the prayer's the same-
a gentle song that goes unsung:
oh bear me not away tonight
oh bear me not away.
My heart, it grieves, at your sight
oh bear me not away.
With trembling hands and quiet tears
I return once more to my bed.
You once had saved me from my fears,
but words betwixt no more are said.
Timid are my hopes, dear Dreams,
that you will join reality-
then nothing would be as it seems
when you'd be back in arms with me.
Author notes
Only in my dreams am I with the girl I want to be with. There was a time we were together, but no we don't speak. I wish for my dreams to come true.
