Turnberry Street

                    Perfume from the gardens
                    Waft around the passerby,,
                    Green grass just like a carpet
                    With edges trimmed so neat,
                    Make for joyous moments
                    As I walk down Turnberry Street.

                    Gardeners from the houses
                    Stop to say hello. Friendly
                    Chats are commonplace
                    As down the street I go.

                    No hurry, so I wander on,
                    No speeding cars go by,
                    Friendly waves from local drivers
                    To an unknown such as I;
                    Who melds these placid moments
                    With the sound of walking feet.

      I live on a farm about 25km from the nearest town. The poem could describe the main street in that town. Rural areas have a much slower pace of life than big towns. Thank you for your comments. I hope to live the rest of my life at the relaxed pace. Cheers, Bob.

      Poppa, this one is pure imagination. The only place I know that is something like that is a little town called Binnaway. Lis and I are accepted as locals although we only go there about once a week. Thanks mate, for the great comment. I appreciate it.
