(041) in the park

how many couples have we supported?

romance under treetops

                                   etched upon golden sunlight

it is the daytime that is the most beautiful.

two by two

two by two

        over and over again

we’ve listened to their talks…

but not just any spoken words:

we’ve heard getting togethers,

                         we’ve heard ‘let’s keep us going’s;

we’ve heard make ups

                           break ups

                                and definite shake-ups…

we are their counselors,

picking them up without saying a word

and we’ve aged…

(how long has it been, again?)

my dear, I still think you’re beautiful,

and there’s something I must say.

we are divided, but

                     we’re one

side by side we’ve sat still,

and I propose a shift…

years pass,

and have I said ‘I love you’ yet?

Wuah, I love, I love, I love this poem! You gave us such a marvelous love story in a very new and fresh way! Two old park benches in love through years of time... That's so beautiful and shows the strength of love so very well. I love the story and I love the way you granted it for us with such beautiful words! Beautiful work with this one! Thanks for sharing this with all of us!
