If I took away all the cars
Could I breath more easily?
Stop that space trip to Mars
The starving wait hungrily
Devote our time to cures
And not to lucrative patches
This attention span insures
The healing without catches
Clean our existing water
Do not sell it by the bottle
The factories must falter
And ease off of the throttle
No lead and mercury in me
I was never to be for warned
So well hidden you can’t see
This act must be scorned
Government of protection
Must not turn eyes away
Lost is all true reflection
When it’s all about pay
Radiation lights us all
In so many different ways
When standing in the fall
Of all the nuclear rays
Safety by coincidence
Is so hard to admire
When you show only impotence
As you set the sky on fire
Million dollar salaries
Big heads of enterprise
Envelope the countries
Leading a sad demise
Agricultural manipulation
Trickles through our soil
And plastic fabrication
Can lead only to spoil
Sanctions are in place
For who and I wonder why?
As we falter as a race
And no one seems to cry
Wars are in our progress
While your child starves
What a lovely sort of mess
See what history carves
The cloning of the beasts
Another genetic masterpiece
A favorite of blinded feasts
This poison must now cease
The harvesting of organs
For the rich in demand
The poor are the bargains
Very little or no reprimand
Monogamy now forgotten
Children are in the streets
And now the world is rotten
Born of all these cheats
What would I change?
If the choice was mine
What could I exchange?
To perhaps redefine
All of the above now
Without looking back
We have the know how
Power is what we lack

I think we have the power too, if we really wanted to. What holds everything back is greed. human greed. The powers that be...it makes me so mad. Congratulations on the trophies and thank you for entering

YEAH!!!! Someone finally did this option!!!! The rhyming seems very natural. The whole thing flows very well. You speak the truth in this poem...unfortunatly. You see past the all the cushy benifits into what is we are really doing to the enviroment Great write and good luck in the contest.

Yes! I stand in agreement here. Change! It all must change! From the head to the foot, it all must change. From deception to disgrace, to discord, to dis-ease...
Do you feel it?
I do! This poem makes me feel it even more.
GREAT WORK! I wish you well in the challenge.
Much Love & Respect ♥
Renee
