What has he done,
thrown a lasso around the sun?
Tilted the horizon
and reversed its dimension?
Dictated a democracy,
or conquered a throne?
No,
he's skipped a stone
across 64 squares of a chessboard
towards a world
where black and white are one
pond.

Thank you for your entry, this is a beautiful poem. The metaphor is strong and well sustained, the words simple and forceful. I am left with the impression of respect and pride. Even the presentation of the poem is stunning. Well done.
