carressing essence (gold trophy)

quiet, as the mind wanders relentlessly
visions of life as it is,
as it isn’t, as it should be
where are we now that the shadows fall
becoming longer
then disappear within the darkness

but even in blindness
where nothing seems real
visions of you fill my head
reminding me
beckoning with outstretched hand
to just hold on

where do I go from here
to what fine dream
to what frolicsome adventure
who will share my life’s moments
what special place calls

life is fickle

yet I know that within this darkness
lies the passing of time
that will awaken once again
the hopes, the dreams, the meaning
of love beyond measure
of a life fulfilled

You've done very well with this, you write very poetically (to sound original) and that is something that is getting harder to find. I don't think I can even write like that . Keep writing. ~ Jessabella

I left a long comment on this page a day or two ago but I am experiencing PC problems and was booted off before I could press submit...

You have captured the essence of this sweet soul.

Nikki is my AP daughter. She is all that is written here, and of course more. It is easy to see that you spent time discovering who ms-cuddles truly is. Your words engulf her wondrous spirit. I love her dearly, and have spent long nights on the phone expressing that love, sharing, and listening. This poem makes me think that you too may have done the very same thing.

This work is wonderful, and filled with the spirit of sisterhood.

Thank you for this entry my sister/friend and I wish you well in this Comp.

    Always ♥

    Renee

    'hold on'
    life is fickle'
    'a life fulfilled'
I enjoyed the progression of this poem from doubt and uncertainty to a positive acceptance and hope for the future.
The start of the first line 'quiet' set the tone for the inner questioning.

ms cuddles, I'm Mr. Cuddles, lol. No wait, Yemuddles...

Silliness aside, what a read, I guess I've been silly this morning and was not prepared for a serious poem, but it hit strong, and the key I think is that it seemed earnest and unaffected and not sententious like many who speak of hope and spirituality...no, this was different, it was a pleasure to read....and the introspection and intelligence in the poem was welcomed. I'd feature it but Ima and I gave all our points away the other day, so maybe just make believe I did.

It's the thought that counts, Yem and I'm flattered that you even thought of featuring the poem. Thanks for reading it and leaving such a special comment.

And, hey, silly or serious, your comments are always much appreciated
