Each moment we’re together my heart trembles
This mindset I have is an unfamiliar sound
For a time I’ve managed to be alone
Now my walls have come crashing down

I’ve been taught to never show my weakness
To be frail is to be childish and a coward
With you it’s okay to have blemishes
My wrongs are accepted and I am yours

When together I’m someone I don’t recognize
I’m the human being I’ve longed for so long
I feel a child’s innocence dwelling inside me
No longer can I be disappointed of my background

There is no shame in my love for you
Your words alone give me strength for hours
Though I’m terrified of the damage you could do
I have faith you won’t take advantage of this power
