i am as strong as a paper airplane,
soaring low and quick to crash.
crafted by hands aggressive and angry,
touched and poked and prodded
like a rat in a lab.
'leave me alone, god please make him
go away, i don't like this at all,'
whispers the little girl with her eyes
shut, nibbling her lip until it bleeds.
outside the moonlight quivers,
spewing bits of white across the lake.
she stares across the sky, eyes wet
with tears, sparkling like the stars.
but he just won't let go.
so she stares off into the nothing,
imagining the paper airplanes as they
crash into the water and drown.

Wow. Amazing. The simile of being like a paper airplane really worked well and helps to plant the emotion that you can feel throughout this.
Very sad write but really well done

It is....
very emotional, and extremely well written. I love the fact it paints such a strong image.
Very creative.

This has such a strong and original image in it that I can't help falling in love with this poem. I love that you tie the comparison in at the opening and closing of the poem. The rest of the poem in between is just as powerful, particularly the images of the rat in a lab, the girl nibbling her lip, the quivering moonlight, and tears like stars. This poem is just bursting with exquisite and insightful imagery and similes. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this; I'm also a survivor of rape though I did not have to endure repeated abuse. Take care, and IM me if you ever need to talk.
