Two shadows down a path collide
And continue on as one
Struck asunder by a ray of light
Brief & yet course altering
The shadows return to one another
Moving towards a new path together
Stronger than before, avoiding separation
The bond growing more
With each passing of the tides
We are one together
Though we come from different origins
And though we may split now & again
Sisters you and I will remain

i wrote this to describe how i feel about the relationship i have with a friend of mine. i've known her for several years now and we are still as close now as ever, even though we're miles apart. i wanted to keep it simple, but to relay how i felt about our sister-like friendship. i hope this portrays that well enough. i would appreciate any feedback. thank you.
