Heart so gentle poured in flesh
Beat Beirut which to,he mesh
Sank in its love for countless days,
But beautiful remained, an enchanting maze...
The blood was poured on earth like streams
Creating a symphony of weeping screams
Dust and flames then formed a cloud
A roar of TRUTH to the world it SHOUT,
How dreadful and harsh,
The road we sometimes march;
More painful than a brutal knife,
Penetrating sometimes the dream we dive;
I know that it's hard for a dream to toss,
BEIRUT AM SORRY for YOUR & MY LOSS...
AND THE DREAM CONTINUES...
We weep for thee,Beautiful BEIRUT...

Duty...Honor....Country
Those words never had much meaning until just now when I read this piece. Tis a shame when events such as the one you have so skillfully described lead to the strife within a country. Hopefully someday, all will be peaceful again so that the legacy of it's great leader can be carried on....

Very Heartfelt Words
This is full of raw emotions for a beautiful land now tainted with the blood and pains of war. You captured the emotions of your heart in these verses showing your love for Beirut.......I dream that one day all wars come to end, and peace covers the whole world like a warm blanket of love...........aquene

A lot of feeling and emotion in this one.
Your last lines says it all...
"More painful than a brutal knife,
Penetrating sometimes the dream we dive;
I know that it's hard for a dream to toss,
BEIRUT AM SORRY for YOUR & MY LOSS..."
There's no real winners in War
we all lose.
..and Thank God, The Dream DOES continue!

P.S. Who's RAFIK?
