Lilies

Sufficient to the day
is the evil thereof
said the man who lives
beyond the field of time.
He is still saying it
in the yesterdays of tomorrow
which you heard next week
in this instant that never dies.
The lilies of the field
in their couture
embarrass Paris and Milan
but do not spin
and do not reckon gain.
Care not for tomorrow,
it has already come
and, sufficient,
still remains.

I love the way you have made loops with time in this poem, focusing on lilies, as instructed by "Consider the lilies..." and strolling through the fields of time with them. Solomon in all his glory now becomes the couture of Paris and Milan, and time is now, and ever shall be. Simple at first glance, with a deep message, and neatly linked back on itself with the echo from the end to the beginning. Good luck in the contest.
