Taking your time in things you do
Is good advice that is given to you
For life will soon be passing by
You can't slow it down, so don't even try
You can however enjoy each day
Remember to be thankful when you pray
Be kind to those you love and know
Take gentleness with you wherever you go
Don't wish to be older than you are
Always make a wish upon the first star
Spend time with friends and loved ones too
All through your life they are special to you
It was only yesterday that I was young
Enjoying all the new songs to be sung
Life held so many wonders for me
Before I knew it, I was thirty-three
Now I am old and have slowed down
But I try always to wear a smile not a frown
My heart is still young and so carefree
Not too bad for someone seventy-three
