Son of the Leader, brought up ignorant
Blood of a Rider, destined to Lead
Son of the Monarch, brought up to Rule
Blood of a Rider, destined to Ride

Two sons brought together by fate
With a little help from a God
Two boys destined to become great
To Lead and Ride through history

Son of the Leader, him to replace
Blood of a Rider, and a Wildwitch too
Son of the Monarch, but never to Rule
Blood of a Rider, and a Rider to love

With sword and bow and magic they fight
To defeat the Realm's enemies
With magic and bow and sword they win
And defeat those who would kill the Leader

The Bloods are combined, the God is happy
The three Bloodlines become one
The souls are joined, the men are happy
The two bodies join and the soul is one

Author notes

I know you wanted separate characters on separate entries, but these two are so closely linked that they had to go together!
They are characters from a novel that I'm halfway through writing. Throughout the story they form a close friendship, and overcome assassins, floods and war to end up joining the three Bloodlines (which are Wildwitch, Leader and Royal). And of course they are lovers.
The God referred to is Vetaro, the Trickster, who has made plans to create even stronger mortals and, because the other gods approve, he wins himself lands in the East (another country across the sea).
I found it quite hard to fit everything into a poem, when the novel is already oer 45,000 words! So this is a very very short version!

I like these characters, I presume they are twins? They work nicely together, nice names. I like the powers that they share and also like the way their personalities are the opposite in a sense, but some parts are fairly similar. Like the poem accompanied too.

Nope not twins. They are lovers (but both end up married to different people. And their relationship causes a whole whirlwind of problems later on...)
      Thanks
