Crimson Lines

I have seen the shame in your rain soaked eyes
Read the telegram you sent with such killing strokes
And though you signed your name with such flourish
Each mark you made I just couldn't resist
Those worded scars stay with me for all time

You say your soul was marked with regret
I still traced those crimson lines on you
And they led me to other conclusions
There was nothing more I could do
I was filled with your mis-understandings

I read those moments you felt with such passion
The words you spoke with such conviction and pain
And I shared with you those other inconclusions
That makes up a life of unadulterated regrets
Still those crimson lines show me you still feel...

And like lines drawn in the sand
Some drawn in crimson should never be crossed

And I'm waiting for the ultimate ending
Will you join me here on this black carousel...

The imagery of this is great; I loved the idea of a black carousel. It didn't really make me feel anything, but is a good poem. Thanks so much for your entry and good luck!
