To undertake a pilgrimage
we go by bus or train
Some people walk, some others drive
some others go by plane
For distances to overcome
to go from A to B
a place is left, another joined
through time and energy
A promise of some bliss to gain
through worship in such way
in distant future, other place
than that where we now stay
will make us move from where we are
distraction’s force will lure
and even some austerities
we’ll happily endure
To climb the stairs to Heaven’s realm
our soul longs to engage
while playing God’s delicious game
on Life’s enchanting stage
Yet there’s no stairway towards Bliss
no stairs to Now and Here
no distance to our inner realm
no path to persevere
Within a second we can join
the Source of Peace and Joy
not in some future, but right now
its nectar to enjoy
So why reach far ? Hear Freedom’s call !
Just guide your gaze inside
and find the Pearl that you have searched
in your own heart abide

stairs to nowhere-
tell me where they go,
where they started
and measure the distance between the first and last step
with your words

A really good collection of poems, although an element of rewritten rather than started anew in one. Hard to fault the individual entries and I am so glad I allowed your late entry in, you were deducted 5 for that, which was not enough to change the results. All other deductions were minor, just a few more of them than the winner. Great entries, the poem with the highest score on my sheet gets the cup, I may comment on the others when I am nearer my notes!

You are so very wise. Our minds are so powerful that thoughts can take us anywhere. First I read your words twice, then the video. Every time I read your poems of the soul, I find new meaning to life. You have been my spiritual guide on my search for "me". Thank you so much, for another lesson, so rich and powerful!

What an amazing take on the prompt. I am speechless at the moment. Words cannot convey the beauty of your piece. Amazing

Stunning piece! This flowed excellently & the words were beautiful. How I wished we had stairs between Here and Now. Maybe that would make our thoughts easier.
Anyways, this is a beaut. I loved the serene, easy feel in the last sentence while you were describing "the stairs". Excellent job maa
