Sacrilegious Deliverance

Would I scream
Had you not taken my voice
Keep it though
So I will never again whisper
Sweet nothings
To another worthless nothing
Like you

They name this
A broken heart
But it’s just another lie
For I no longer have one
Just a malignant tumor
A cancerous mass that feigns
And only takes up space

How am I
Suppose to mend and heal
And stitch these gaping wounds
When you can’t even close
The flapping, festering lesion
That keeps creating new ones?
Please explain

But then again
Refrain
Cease and desist
Relieve me
Of the viral vermin
That are your words
Reprieve me
From your blasphemous sins
That you burden this martyr with

I am not your Jesus
I will not sacrifice myself
For your repulsive salvation
My futilely shed blood
Will not purge you
The broken crust of my body
Shall never pardon you

I will find it
Hard enough to forgive you
Myself
Without pestering
Whoever you pray to
Or prey on
To do the same

I’m sorry
But then again, I’m not
Let’s just cut to the chase
It is over
Go find your
Sacrilegious deliverance
Elsewhere

Write a poem ABOUT breaking up. Don't make it over-the-top obvious and don't make it one big-ass metaphor.

enjoy.

"That are you words" Should be "your".

    "I am not your Jesus
    I will not sacrifice myself
    For your repulsive salvation
    My futilely shed blood
    Will not purge you
The broken crust of my body
Shall never pardon you" --- That is just simply amazing.
In fact, this poem is. You've not only followed the rules 100% but you've also created something that I know a lot of people have felt but made it so unique. Brilliant work! Welcome to the finalists list
