Inadequate words,
wasted ink,
spilling out over the page
trying to give shape
to meaningless thoughts;
they're all I can give
Anything I was
all that I am
whatever I might be
all there
slap-dashed on the page
from the desperate attempt
to explain, to quantify,
that which is beyond me
you
you write,
and I am stunned
speechless and awed
I memorize your words,
your phrases dance my dreams
my waking eye continually turns back
to you
your voice, your unfathomable wisdom
and I write...
I write this hodgepodge of words
in constant effort to express
--just once--
the height and breadth and depth
of how
(truly, inexplicably, completely)
amazing
you
are.

I liked this one a lot. Love is something that cannot be described. I liked how simple this was and I liked the effect that it added. A great ending, something I think everyone feels when they're in love. Thanks for entering and good luck.

I think not entirely else you would be at a loss for words, bereft like a heart forlorn.
This is an amazing heart’s labor my dear; that left me sighing.
Sincerely,
mj.
