Belle de Nuit

Deep within the forest of my soul,
Wherein vines stretch far and owls sing
Hymns unto nocturnal death;
Where blue flowers reflect
The moon’s white light;
And where a rivulet curves round
A single oak upon a grassy promontory--
There resides your lovely form,
Humming the Ode to Eternal Love
I composed for you.

Your clear green eyes
Illumine the dark verdure surrounding.
Your precious and melodious voice
Flows through the vegetal and lacustrine valleys,
Rising, at last, towards the starry welkin,
Where the silver clouds breathe in its sweetness
And cover the ground with rain.
Surely, my Love, from this ablution will grow
An orchard of yellow orchids.

Surely, mon belle de nuit— my beauty of the night,
Will arise the aureate sun of day, our Child.

    You have always been one of the finest & most original of my favorite younger writers, dear Scribe. Within this quoted stanza alone is a wealth of wisdom, let alone unique language, fragrant & ripe with flavor. You pen such iridescent poetry, reflecting & refracting such beautiful colors. I hope you know how much I've always enjoyed your work...& how much I hope to continue enjoying it, long into my golden years. Incredibly done, my Friend. Thank you for entering my contest. Good luck, Sweetie. Wanda

    What is there to say to such a beautiful piece..
    I do not believe there are any words on this earth that could do justice to this beautifully written poem..
    Your words flow so well.. If they were spoken aloud I am sure that they would be whispered for the beauty of the flow in your words seems so soft..
    Such a beautiful write..
    Peace to you, Jetleena

    Outstanding

    You have so much lyrical ability - your poetry continues to impress me. I loved the last stanza and the dense, well-crafted imagery that flows throughout this poem. This is a well-written, articulate poem that speaks of love with a vivid warmth and sense of passion. I thought it was fantastic.
