A thoroughly cliched love poem (written in three minutes after an argument)

Violets are violet (though cliches will claim that they're blue).
Roses are red and they stand for a love that is true.
I know that you try hard to be all you think that I need
but you're already all that I want!  Love, it makes my heart bleed
that you think I could love you less, now, than the first day we met.
I Love You!  That truth doesn't change, so please never forget
that together, we're more than we ever could be, if apart.
I love you.  That's all...the beginning and end of my heart!

Author notes

We argued...for about two minutes. A minute later, while I was looking at the instructions for this contest, Vicki brought me a sweet little "Roses are red, violets are blue" apology note...and I wrote this.


(It's all better, now.)


Sorry, Suz...she'll always be my Valentine, but at least it's got all the cliches you could ask for.

    Especially since this was after an argument.
    Quite lovely. I think you can teach many persons a fine lesson in the true meaning of LOVE.

      I got lucky. No idea at all how or why, but I try real hard to make her feel like she did, too.

      I changed my avatar yesterday at her request, to show her in her gloriously blonde and tanned state..but I got several messages saying she didn't show up nearly as well in the new one and that she was, after all, the only thing in my avatar worth looking at (thus do my fans adore me!) so I changed it back and decided to post this pic here, instead.

      In larger format, it's my 'desktop' background.
