Final Goodbye

And so I depart.

These words my final goodbye.

"Never again, will you watch me sleep,

now it is I who watches over you...

Until we meet again."

Author notes

In honor of Valentine's Day, I went a little sappy. Last words to a lover. Basically saying, now it's my turn to watch over you. (From heaven.) Hope you enjoyed my strangeness.

Beautiful and sought well. Very emotional and tamed but still a happy lament to soften the blow. Something gripping and nicely worded.

    Thanks for entering,

Hi i like your poem its kinda nice to see a final goodbye that is sappy rather than full of anger or hurt, and i get the feeling of peacefullness from this rather than some goodbyes which are from suicides that even though are touching are more forced. I definately get this feeling of serenity with this. well done.

Thank you. I tried. I had a really good picture in my head about what it would be like. It was just a matter of getting the words right. Glad to know I did well. ^.^
