And He Told Her

Mirror
The merciless reflection whispers
"imperfect"

High school
Eyes vicious, penetrating

Humiliating stumble toward plus size

Him
Unrelenting love
Compassionate embrace
Sincerely relays the reality
Undeniably Perfect

    remarkable

There was so much truth and emotion in this poem, I really loved it! The way some people perceive themselves is downright cruel. It's scary and sad how girl especially think they are ugly and try so hard to make up for that. Everyone has beauty inside and outside! But how can they see it if they don't look for it?
Your poem was lovely, it really spoke to me. You will be able to reach out to a lottt of people, especially teens, with your writing! Awesome job!

Such a profound piece of writing...I love the way you formed this poem and it has such a personal feel to it...sweety, nobody's perfect, it's a hollywood myth...it is all about how we love ourself, and know God loves us...
