Shocking, vibrating, bone shaking
like bony little fingers,
seeking coveted cooper pennies
hidden in an empty light socket
Camelot had fallen.
An heir apparent lost at sea.
Searching for the horizon,
while scavenging seagulls
pluck the flimsy fibers
from the abandoned pink pillbox hat.
The gauntlet had been cast,
with no takers
to pick up the forgotten flag,
and carry it to glory,
to the Q-tip covered clouds,
over the shiny silvery sea.

I've always been enthralled with the Kennedy family. Guess it is evident.

Pink Pillbox Hat
Pink Pillbox Hat ..it is a social statement actually...anyone alive in 1963 would recall Jackie Kennedy's pink pillbox hat which she wore the day of JFK's assassination...Catholicism woven in..the tragedy of the family...their faith to keep going...the point is that we all suffer tragedies...maybe not so severe ..we need to pick up our crosses and bear them...continue on...not give up...what else can I say?
