Reflections of Life Once Known

Sitting in the rotting forest of broken limbs,
Seeking to know what caused this lack of life.
Wondering how the forest must feel reflecting ,
On how thriving and alive it once had been.
Entering now through the vast darkness of life,
Knowing what had brought this upon the earth.
Wishing some of the world could have seen what,
Their own selfish needs and wants destroyed.
They now can't turn back time they once had,
To change their effect on this once thriving land.
