Water Free Flowing

Blood flows from the facuet that is my arm
A knob that turns on but never off
The knife acts as my hand
Gently caressing my skin

I wince, cutting too deep
The blood now rushing to escape

Grabbing a towel

It turns from white to crimson in seconds

A knock on the door,

His voice coming from the other side

Full of concern and helplessness

The door handle jiggles

I reach to unlock it

Falling to the floor

I groan, try to get back up

Only to stumble and fall again

He calls again

Only this time more urgent

I reach for the door

Only now it's open

My knight in shiny armor

Kneels beside my shaking body

Tears falling on me as I finish

Now both hot and cold run together

My arms, limp at my side

Surrounding by ignorance and regret

His desolate cries lull me to sleep

As I whisper

Goodbye
