Reiki

Sitting in my recliner
trying to take a nap.
On my lap a hairy ball
so happy to be here.

Deep brown eyes look up at
me full of love and trust.
Eyes that say how much she loves
me, how much she really cares.

Thank you for the rescue
my life was limited.
Thank you for the home
I have, thank you that you care.

Thank you for this warm house and
the fun walks that we take.
Thank you that you decided
on a dog like me.

Many dogs have come and gone but
I am here to stay.
Just because you cared enough
to rescue me that day.

I just read a poem by my friend Aesthete where she talks about a friend who helps wounded and lost birds. Told her that kindness to small defenseless creatures, can only lead to kindness toward bigger creatures.
Saw your name on the online list, hummingbird is my favourite bird, had to click on your page
    Am very happy I did.
tender poem you have here, showing that a simple gesture rewards us with love both ways

How cute...the dog and your words.
Sometimes animals can be more grateful than people for what we do for them.

I have a sweet dog,she was just left out on my road and I started feeding her...the people who left her couldn't have know what a joy she is to have!

Everyday when I feed her or just walk outside to play with her she looks at me with those beautiful eyes...and I know she love's me for caring enough not to just turn my back on her.

    Touching!

I just love these words, like a conversation with the canine your heart rescued, and it touched me my friend. I assumre that's the little darling in the pic. This is just wonderfully written from your heart. Hoping she fills your life/home with so much memories to come. It touched me as I had a dog for 15 yrs, and I just missed her terribly when she died a three years ago!

    hugs, Rena
