Did you see the carcass
Right as it died
The blood so viscous
The face glass-eyed
Have you ever felt it
Take over your mind
But you’d never admit
Your desire to rewind
How did it feel
To see her there
Was it surreal
That she lay bare
She was stripped
No sign of life
Because she slipped
On your jackknife
So why do you lie
If you’re not to blame
And why do you cry
When you hear her name
You knew of the knife
And you didn’t say
Your crimes are rife
On your soul they weigh
You could have changed it
Had you really tried
You chose to omit
You weren’t her guide
Now she’s dead
And so is your soul
The tears you shed
Won’t fill that hole
