Whose really risking it all?
Is it the once married man,
who struggles to keep his children,
who are really the only treasures
that he still luckily possesses,
from staying in poverty
and falling into the land of the homeless?
Never to know wealth,
he prepares again to get kicked out
of the eighteenth apartment
in less that two months.
No choice but to scrounge for food.
Or is it the soldier,
who chose to set aside his pacifism,
to go over the vast blue,
to see only the vast red?
To see his fellow comrades fall
to the art of war,
and miraculously survive
every battle he encounters.
Survive another day,
just to see more and more
of his comrades seize to exist.
Whose really risking it all?
