I took a walk at midnight last night.
The hour of which I love the best.
Walking along the cobblestone streets,
Thinking about me young, those days.
When life was still full of lust and vigor.
Remembering my home so long ago,
On the corner of Maple and Blathery Street.
I wonder if it's stilll there?
Then I remember why I'm not there anymore.
Why it is that I never died a sweet death.
Horrific visions within my mind.
The blood thirsty look burning in her eyes.
She didn't even know what she'd done to me,
Till I showed up later, dead, like her.
She had no clue what she really was,
Till I taught her what I'd learned over the years.
I guess to a point I should thank her maybe.
For now I can live eternally,
But such a blessing bares many curses,
Like watching your loved ones die
and not knowing.
Not knowing if you would see them again,
With this curse that haunts you never at rest.
When you must kill, to live.
Or to not see yourself smile,
And to not feel alive and realize your not,
With this that she never realized she gave you.
And you want to be happy,
And you want to live freely,
And you want to breathe deeply,
And love completely,
But you can't!
It's this that I've realized.
I can't eat, I can't sleep, I can't love,
And can't breathe,
Due to this annoyance that never does beat.
Due to the void left in my breast.
This unavoidable emptiness beneath my chest.
