I drive better with my knee
than most people with two hands.
I wear black, and I sing punk,
and my best friends are in a band.
I don't wear any make-up.
What you get is what you see.

Not to worry about what people think,
about what you say and do.

Everyone else is just like you.
You tell me that I'm nothing,

'Cause this is who I am.
And so what if my life style
doesn't fit into your plan?
Why does it bother you
that I'm not like your friends?
It doesn't make a difference,
all that matters in the end
Is that, in this world of plastic,
I am made of flesh and bone
and the things that matter most
in my life are set in stone.
I love music, books, and writing.
My best friends and my life.
I'd like to be a mother,
though I may never be a wife.
I am myself and no other,
and always have been, which,
is far better than being
a cookie-cutter bitch.

hehe, this one makes me laugh. but i can picture a reading of it serious. its just stark and defiant to where its not even funny at some points and more threatening. some sort of empowerment or pride radiating from your simple and straighfoward.
