as you proceed to bitch about the car breaking down
and what a ball buster your day has been.
Don’t lie to me about the peace you’ve found
when your brother and you haven’t spoken
in months.
Don’t bemoan to me how fucked up life is
while we watch Debbie kick dallas’ ass
on your flat screen,
your 15 year old alone in a room somewhere
doing god knows what.
Don’t continue to make a mockery out of your bibles,
man,
your holy books,
which say thou shall have no false gods before me,
and then expect the greatest of spirits
to sit back and let you do it.
Don’t preach to me about the religion you found,
like this latest elixir will now save the fucking world
of your choice
as if some god actually planned all this shit
and some devil is forcing the play.
Don’t let my language throw you off,
being irrelevant to the path of peace,
which says enough is enough.
Don’t continue to hate your brother,
man,
anywhere,
and wonder why the planet is warming up,
this killing of self coming to a boil
as prophesized.
Just don’t do it,
man,
because I’m telling you,
I am not going to take it for very much longer,
and then you shall really know hell.

Right now, I felt like venting. So I did. I can only watch so much of the "news", the talking pundits so full of advice, before I talk back.

Oh wow man, this is an absolute master piece - POINT TAKEN!!! I think you just verbalised what halve of mankind is thinking but not saying. I applaud your honesty and ability to 'vent', you do it well...keep venting my friend. Anyway, well done with the trophy - it just shows how sincere, raw emotions splash themselves on paper with no effort.

I have, of course, heard of Cayce, and remain quite impressed with his words and his actions while he lived. Unquestionably, he is one of the few who was true to his gift. Perhaps he and others like him were but the harbingers of "my" theories.

Well, hell is relative Jim, and I certainly think that we have the potential to see things become much worse on this planet than it is now. We have the potential to improve it as well, depending on the choices we make as a race. But as for a literal hell of the bible, etc, then I agree, such a place doesn't exist.

Amen. this is one of the reasons I did have to tune out..someone is inevitably shoving their ideas of God down my thoat. My God doesn't need for me to do that..I've become PI...politically intolerant, as much as anything, these days. Reminds me of something one of my patients says, I'd rather see a sermon, than hear one, anyday.
Yes, I really loved this, language and all, and I think I'll bookmark it.
It's too bad Man of the Year was just a movie, because, compared to the runners in this election, we'd do a whole lot better, as a whole, if we could vote for Tom Dobbs..wouldn't you agree?

Yet I get your meaning, and agree with you, having become quite passerby during this election season. Yet I feel the burning anger over the same old same old they offer us, and would happily support a tom dobbs if they existed.

OH YEAH!!! Say it again...and again...and again!!! I have been here on AP for over a year...and this is the first poem that I have read that sounds like on of my own rants on religion!!! I freakin loved this...the raw emotion...the bitter truth...and the fucking reality! I hate hypocrisy...I will detest it till I draw my last breath. This write certainly stirred my emotions...best of luck and I do truly thank you for this write...that was captured in a moment!!!
